Bernice A. McKenzie – Doctor of Audiology, Audiologist

Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) Linguistics, University of Ottawa

Doctorate in Audiology (Au.D.), Wayne State University

Bernice A. McKenzie obtained her Doctorate in Audiology in 2006. She was part of the first graduating class of Doctors of Audiology at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. As a regulated healthcare provider, she is registered with the College of Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO).

She is also a member of the Ontario Association of Professional Audiology Clinics (OAPAC).

Bernice see’s patients with hearing loss and tinnitus at our Amherstburg location. She sees dizziness patients at our Essex location.


Sandra DeKok – Audiologist

Honors Bachelor of Arts Anthropology-Linguistics Specialization, University of Western Ontario

Masters of Clinical Science-Communicative Disorders-Audiology, University of Western Ontario
Sandra completed her Masters in Audiology at the University of Western Ontario in London.  As a regulated health care provider, she is registered with the College of Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO).
Sandra has practised in the field of audiology for over 20 years working with clients of all ages with a specialization in paediatrics. She was a diagnostic and amplification audiologist with the Infant Hearing Program of Ontario for over 18 years.
Sandra sees patients at our Essex location.

Shaelyn Fritsch – Audiologist

Bachelor of Arts (Honours) Psychology – University of Windsor
Masters of Clinical Science – Communication Sciences and Disorders – Audiology
Shaelyn completed her Masters in Audiology at the University of Western Ontario in London. As a regulated health care provider, she is registered with the College of Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO). Shaelyn is also a member of the Canadian Association of Audiologists (CAA) and an audiologist within the Infant Hearing Program of Ontario.
Shaelyn sees patients at our LaSalle location.


Teresa Occhinero – Audiologist

Bachelor of Arts Communications, University of Windsor

Masters of Arts in Audiology, Wayne State University

Bachelors Education, University of Windsor

Teresa completed her Masters in Audiology at Wayne State University in Detroit. As a regulated health care provider, she is registered with the College of Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO).

Teresa also possesses a graduate teaching degree from the University of Windsor. She currently assesses children at our Essex location on select Saturdays of the month.

Sonia Ricci – Occupational Therapist

Bachelor of Arts Psychology, University of Windsor

Masters Occupational Therapy, University of Western Ontario

Sonia obtained completed her Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy at the University of Western Ontario. As a regulated healthcare provider, she is registered with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario.

As an occupational therapist her goal is to return people to work. Sonia is in charge of developing rehabilitation plans for our patients with vestibular disorders.

Julie Rauth – Occupational Therapist

Bachelor of Science Occupational Therapy, University of Ottawa
Julie obtained her Occupational Therapy degree at the University of Ottawa in 1998. As a registered health care professional, she is registered with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO).
Julie has worked in community mental health for almost 24 years. She recently completed training in Vestibular Rehabilitation through the American Institute of Balance.
As an Occupational Therapist, Julie is responsible for not only creating rehabilitation plans for those with vestibular disorders but also to help them cope with the effects of dizziness and imbalance on daily functioning.


Emily Ellard – Communicative Disorders Assistant/Audiology Assistant/Hearing Instrument Specialist

Hearing Aid Practitioner, MacEwan University

Emily is a Hearing Instrument Specialist and registered member of the Association of Hearing Instrument Practitioners of Ontario (AHIP).

Emily initially joined the team in 2016 as a Communicative Disorders Assistant and has transitioned into the role of a Hearing Instrument Specialist. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Waterloo in 2012, then went on to obtain a post-degree certificate in Communicative Disorders from Lambton College. Emily graduated from the Hearing Aid Practitioner Program at MacEwan University in 2020.

Celina Postlethwaite  – Hearing Instrument Specialist

Bachelor of Arts Psychology, University of Windsor

Hearing Aid Practitioner Diploma, MacEwan University

Celina is a Hearing Instrument Specialist and registered member of the Association of Hearing Instrument Practitioners of Ontario (AHIP).

Celina completed the Hearing Aid Practitioner Program at MacEwan University in 2018. Celina also has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology which she obtained from the University of Windsor in 2016. She grew up in Kingsville and works primarily in our Amherstburg location. Celina has a passion for helping others. She enjoys travelling, reading and meeting new people.


Melissa Kime – Office Manager/Audiology Assistant

Melissa is the Office Manager for all three clinics, but spends the majority of her time at our Essex location. She is currently completing coursework to become an hearing aid practitioner.

Cory Green – Office Manager

Cory can be found working out of at all three clinic locations.

He can help troubleshoot minor hearing aid issues and show you how to care and maintain your hearing aids.

Marlene Lariviere – Patient Care Coordinator

Marlene has experience in the hearing aid industry having worked as a customer service representative with a hearing aid manufacturer, at a dispensing clinic and at a hospital in their Department of Audiology.

Marlene works out of our LaSalle location.

Cassie Bailey – Patient Care Coordinator

Cassie graduated in Office Administration in 2004 and Medical Office Administration in 2005 and likes working with the general public. 

Helping others if only by a kind word, is a daily goal of hers.  Cassie grew up in LaSalle and enjoys living in such a wonderful community.

Natalie was born and raised in Timmins, Ontario and has been living in Essex County since 2019.
