MEET THE PRESENTERS:

Doctor of Audiology and Audiologist Nashlea Brogan is a passionate advocate for those with hearing loss, and has dedicated her career to helping people hear better by using the latest advancements and tools available in the Audiology profession. As a Cochlear Implant (CI) user, who had a late onset progressive hearing loss, she understand firsthand the challenges that come with hearing loss and its treatment options, and use these experiences to better provide long term patient entered care.

As the sole owner of a large audiology practice for the past 19 years, she is committed to providing the highest level of progressive care to her practice’s patients. Whether she is providing education, treatment options, and counselling to individuals and families affected by hearing loss, or leading her professional team, she strives to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those she serves.

Beyond her work in private practice, she is deeply involved in advocacy efforts to raise awareness about the impact of hearing loss beyond just treating the ear. She frequently talks about cognitive health, mental health, and the realities of living life with hearing loss.

Doctor of Audiology and Audiologist Bernice McKenzie operates clinics throughout Windsor-Essex. She opened her first clinic in Amherstburg in 2010 and since then has opened other locations in Essex, LaSalle and Windsor.

A native of Brantford Ontario, she moved to Windsor while completing her doctorate at Wayne State University in Detroit Michigan.

She is proud to be the owner of the ONLY audiology clinics in Windsor-Essex that complete cognitive screenings, vestibular testing and paediatric hearing testing.

She strives to educate her staff, and the public about the known links between Diabetes, Dementia and Hearing Loss. All three of these conditions have affected her personally in one way or another. She herself is a pre-diabetic, and when receiving her diagnosis she was shocked that the healthcare providers that she talked to did not mention anything about the relationship between diabetes and hearing loss. Her grandmother passed away from Alzheimers in 2022, and at no point of time were her family members advised about treating hearing loss as a modifiable risk factor.
